. Two littermates at a fun gathering in Yellowknife. These two dogs along with another from the same litter were later sold as Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) registered Canadian Eskimo Dogs to the Department of Environment, Government of Canada. They were sent by the government to the remote Environment Canada weather station located at Eureka on the Foshiem Peninsula of Ellesmere Island, Nunavut, Canada. The dogs were used as a deterrent to warn against and chase off polar bears which had caused problems for the small number of staff at the station. |
